Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Dr. Chad Ebesutani has lived and worked across cultures his whole life — from California, Rhode Island, and Mississippi to Canada, Australia, and now South Korea. That breadth shapes how he listens: with curiosity, humility, and a deep respect for the many contexts a person carries.
He studied at Brown University and earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from UCLA. A Gates Millennium Scholar and published researcher with more than 90 peer-reviewed articles, he spent over a decade as Associate Professor of Psychology at Duksung Women's University in Seoul before founding the Seoul Counseling Center, which he leads as CEO and Director.
Healing begins when our values, thoughts, words, and actions finally tell the same story.
Dr. Chad has advised Noom Korea, consulted for PracticeWise, and written for The Korea Times, Korea Herald, Nature, and Seoul Life. His work includes developing the SEEDS Assessment and the RCADS-P, and leading a government-funded study on app-based resilience training for youth and families — staying at the forefront of CBT, storytelling, leadership, and what it means to stay human in the age of AI.

The SEEDS Assessment
A measure of the social-emotional competencies — self-awareness chief among them — that research shows are essential for healthy development, resilience, and lifelong wellbeing.
SEEDS is a 62-item questionnaire that measures the social-emotional competencies in children and adolescents that matter most — identifying the behaviors needed for healthy development and freedom from emotional distress, so you can nurture what truly matters. In an age when AI can answer almost anything, the rarest skill is knowing ourselves; SEEDS helps cultivate that self-awareness early.

Dr. Chad believes that aligning our values, thoughts, words, and actions is the key to personal, professional, and social transformation. When we stay true to what we believe, think, say, and do, we build a more connected and hopeful world. When we don't, we become misaligned, confused, and conflicted.
What we stand for
The convictions that quietly steer every decision.
How we perceive
The lens that shapes meaning before we ever respond.
What we communicate
The bridge between our inner world and the people in it.
How we behave
Where belief becomes visible — and trust is earned.
When these are in sync, we can renew, rebuild, reunite, and restore.
